About The Position

The Molding Process Engineer serves as a key technical resource across the molding organization, supporting molding production, mold maintenance, machine maintenance, mold processing, warehouse operations, engineering initiatives, and technical education programs. This role is responsible for improving molding performance through process optimization, technical problem solving, standardization, and capability development. Be a part of the team that ensures molding processes are optimized for safety, quality, and efficiency, while supporting the integration of new materials, technologies, and global standards into daily operations. A key component of this role is aligning cross-functional efforts across engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver high-performance outcomes and future-ready capabilities in manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering (Injection Molding), Materials Engineering, or Polymers is highly preferred.
  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or other relevant hands-on manufacturing experience may be considered toward experience requirements.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for technical problem solving, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with injection molding processes, scientific molding principles, and Process.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training.
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and process capability studies.
  • Familiarity with production data systems, MES platforms, BI tools, and quality systems.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, molds, maintenance systems, and process validation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and sustain molding standards, process documentation, mold cards, and best practices across molding operations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for molding processes, supporting operators, setters, technicians, maintenance personnel, and engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead and support process optimization initiatives utilizing production data, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analyze production, quality, maintenance, and operational data from BI, MMS, QA, and related systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in root cause investigations involving molding processes, mold performance, machine reliability, and product quality.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to identify, validate, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design, execute, and analyze structured experiments (DOE) to optimize molding processes, equipment performance, cycle times, product quality, and process robustness.
  • Support mold trials, process development activities, equipment commissioning, and process validation initiatives.
