About The Position
We're hiring a Molding Process Technician responsible for setting molds and starting molders within established process guidelines. This role plays a key part in maintaining part quality, optimizing changeover times, and keeping molding operations running efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required (equivalent field experience considered)
- 3+ years of Process Technician experience
- Knowledge of different plastic materials and their characteristics
- Understanding of mold construction
- Basic math skills and ability to apply them on the job
- Basic computer skills; ability to work a press HMI
- Robot programming and troubleshooting experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous forklift and crane operating experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Process and operate Injection Molding and Blow Molding machines
- Monitor, maintain, and recommend improvements to standard molding cycle times and part quality
- Launch new molds and obtain first piece approval to engineering standards
- Develop and implement operating instructions in coordination with QA
- Develop and manage a well-organized mold change process to optimize uptime and reduce changeover times
- Program and troubleshoot injection molding robots
- Handle and clean all tooling and equipment properly to avoid damage
- Set molds as required by schedule and process to meet quality standards
- Check parts for quality and complete required paperwork logs
- Assist maintenance on injection molding, blow molding, and other processing equipment as needed
