About The Position

Corning is seeking a Process Engineer to improve existing manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities across multiple facilities. This role supports and leads continuous improvement activities on raw material choices, cost reduction projects, and new process integration -- with direct impact on production quality and operational performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools -- Microsoft Excel, Access, and Minitab or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to apply scientific method and engineering principles to diagnose and resolve process problems

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting
Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering-level production support and actively engage in plant safety initiatives and projects
Solve process and material issues in production through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts
Lead and/or support projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new product introduction
Develop and maintain systems to monitor equipment and process performance, including trend analysis and implementation plans
Receive and integrate new technologies to improve process capability while ensuring proper transfer processes are followed
