About The Position

At Restek, Process Engineers are responsible for not only maintaining production but also enhancing it. As a Process Engineer II, you will utilize your expertise in chemistry, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics to address practical production challenges. This includes developing new manufacturing processes, scaling up new products, and improving quality, safety, and efficiency within your designated area. This role offers significant autonomy, allowing you to lead process engineering initiatives, set strategy, guide junior engineers, and independently resolve critical issues. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related science.
At least 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply fundamental concepts of chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid flow to chromatography applications.
Comfort handling work of moderate complexity with minimal direction.
Strong understanding of core responsibilities and processes.
Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying statistical methods and techniques.
Collaborative mindset able to contribute regularly to project teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Good computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, statistics, and database applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of process statistics and problem-solving methodologies.
Successful completion of a standard background check.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

CAD proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead process engineering in your area, setting and executing strategy and coordinating junior engineers.
Monitor and identify process issues to ensure safe processes, high-quality products, and on-time delivery in assigned production areas.
Evaluate and scale up new and existing manufacturing technologies and processes, running experiments and collecting data for product decisions.
Identify opportunities for process and productivity improvement, then develop, validate, and introduce solutions.
Document experiments and procedures, review documentation for accuracy, and write experience reports for cross-departmental review.
Train manufacturing personnel on new procedures, processes, raw material testing, product handling, equipment, and final product testing.
Stay current in your field through seminars, workshops, and continuing education.
Practice safe working procedures per Environmental Health and Safety guidelines and understand process safety requirements and safe material handling.
