About The Position

This is an entry-level Process Engineer position working within a team environment. The role involves responsibilities across all phases of assigned engineering projects to ensure objectives of quality, time, and cost are met. The engineer will prepare project schedules, review cost estimates, compile required cost and equipment information, and write appropriation requests. Effective communication of engineering information among team members is crucial. The position requires adherence to Pella's Project Management, Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Systems throughout project execution. The engineer will investigate problems and requirements of projects, developing plans for solutions considering economic, personnel, and environmental factors. The scope includes manufacturing, engineering, product development, and material/equipment vendors. Collaboration, prioritization, planning, and implementation of projects are key. The ability to effectively present information, defend positions, and address concerns is essential for driving execution. Understanding and applying safe practices in line with Pella’s safety policies is expected.

Requirements

  • Entry level; 1-3 years combined engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math, or relevant Science or combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Office applications required.
  • AutoCAD required.
  • Developing skills within multiple disciplines or technologies.
  • Periodically exposed to machinery where safe operating procedures must be followed.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 30 lbs. is required.
  • Work environment is noisy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Co-op experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Project preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer, modify, procure, install, and start up manufacturing processes at suppliers and Pella.
  • Prepare project schedules and review cost estimates.
