About The Position

The Process Coordinator/Healthcare role at the Bethesda Dermatopathology Lab (BDL) is seeking a fast, accurate, and highly proficient individual to join their team. This is a full-time position in a busy lab environment located in Silver Spring, MD. The primary function is transcribing medical reports, but the role also involves data entry, problem-solving, assisting clients via phone, and other administrative duties. The position offers a challenging and stimulating environment with growth potential.

Requirements

  • Excellent and accurate computer and typing skills (60+ wpm)
  • High productivity is CRITICAL to meet daily deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, reliable service-oriented team player with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, be self-motivated
  • Effective and professional communication skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and use time productively
  • Understanding of legal and ethical issues concerning patient confidentiality
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm
  • One (1) year medical transcription and administrative support experience preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
  • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
  • Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
  • Basic to intermediate computer operation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
  • Experience in medical specialties such as dermatopathology or pathology is a plus
  • Specialty knowledge of organizational systems relating to job function
