About The Position

The Process Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all educational processes related to Special Education laws and compliance requirements. This role ensures that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with federal and state regulations, while also aligning with individual school district practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Education Required
  • Special Education Teacher Certification preferred; any Missouri Teacher/Administrator certification required
  • Strong understanding of Special Education Law (IDEA), 504 Plans and Due Process requirements
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, email applications, and multiple educational record programs (Power IEP, SIS)
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all transactions and communications
  • Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in special education/administration/or general education

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate the planning, scheduling, and execution of the IEP and Section 504 process for students in accordance with special education laws and district procedures
  • Serve as the legally required school administrator during all IEP meetings
  • Manage due process and legal matters related to special education and represent the organization in due process cases as needed
  • Collaborate with students’ special education teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and completed in a timely manner prior to meetings
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with staff, school personnel, families, and outside agencies
  • Develop, provide, and promote ongoing training for special education teachers and staff regarding special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Serve as a resource for teachers and school personnel regarding special education processes, evaluation tools, and student diagnoses
  • Support and maintain relationships with referring school districts in collaboration with school leadership and administrators
  • Partner with the Principal to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of special education staff assigned to schools
  • Stay informed of updates and changes to special education laws, regulations, and judicial rulings, and communicate relevant updates to teachers and administrators
  • Achieve established job goals and performance outcomes consistent with organizational expectations
