About The Position

The Process Controls Engineer executes projects to maintain and improve automated control systems within operating facilities. The work includes instrumentation and control device selection, PLC and DCS system design, installation checkout, and system commissioning. This is a full-time, onsite position in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with travel to site locations for installation checkout and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Control Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience with automated control systems.
• At least 2 years of experience with Siemens PCS 7, TIA Portal, PLC 500, and SLC500.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel 20%–40%, mostly within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering project team and production staff.
• Implement system expansions and obsolescence replacement projects.
• Upgrade Allen-Bradley PLC5 and SLC500 systems to CLX5000.
• Perform Siemens PCS7 HMI version and controller upgrades.
• Upgrade TIA Portal to version 20.
• Travel to site locations for installation checkout and system commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards.
