About The Position

The Process Controls Professional supports control systems for the gas gathering, compression, processing, and pipeline assets. This role provides technical stewardship for SCADA systems, PLC programs, and HMI systems. The position is responsible for implementing process controls improvements, troubleshooting control system issues, and supporting projects in adherence to MPLX standards and industry best practices. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Measurement and Environmental teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations through effective application of control strategies and automation technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License Required

Responsibilities

  • Programs, supports, and troubleshoots control logic, HMI displays and supporting technology (networks, remote communications/protocols and metering) to meet operational, economic, and regulatory objectives for a variety of MPLX programs and facilities.
  • Develops C&E and controls narrative documentation; serves as the lead in verifying this documentation in FAT and SAT tests.
  • Supports alarm cleanup efforts and participates in the roll-out of alarm management programs with activities that include alarm rationalization, key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring, audit, and MOC.
  • Understands most facility processes at a board operator level and optimizes/troubleshoots operational processes using modern technical tools and modeling/predictive software.
  • Functions effectively in both a team member and team leader capacity for maintenance and larger-scale Controls capital projects; coordinates resources and sets timelines to complete work; participates in multiple teams and consistently meets deadlines; coaches less experienced employees.
  • Understands, applies, and recognizes deviations from MPLX and industry standards/guidelines.
  • Possesses proficiency in core concepts of safety-related processes and programs and trains other employees on them; participates in supplemental safety-related processes/programs.
