About The Position

As a Process Control Engineer at Micron, you will join the Research and Development Process Control Systems (PCS) team, which develops and implements process control practices. You will collaborate with engineers across Process Development, Manufacturing, and IS to analyze and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) conditions and identify opportunities to improve process capability. The role includes mentoring and training others on statistical concepts, applications, and techniques, and working directly with R&D process areas to understand their needs, processes, and challenges. You will use traditional and AI-assisted methods to develop and maintain data queries and reporting solutions that measure process capability and other SPC metrics. You will analyze and present data to process teams and management, and participate with the worldwide PCS team to standardize and share process control solutions and improve practices across Micron’s global network.

Requirements

  • Understanding of SPC.
  • Analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to learn new process control tools quickly and work independently.
  • Experience developing, teaching, and presenting technical subjects.
  • Ability to balance multiple high-priority projects.
  • General semiconductor process knowledge.
  • A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or an equivalent Micron job standing of Engineer or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in other PCS subjects, such as Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), Run-to-Run Control (R2R), Scheduling or Sampling, Process Metrology, and semiconductor process equipment interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement solutions to identify and reduce process variation, and develop systems that automate or simplify process control tasks.
  • Write scripts to extract, shape, and filter data for analysis.
  • Extract data from different databases using SQL and other query languages, and apply data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing-data techniques.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Organize tasks for maximum efficiency while incorporating department priorities.
  • Coordinate and thoughtfully facilitate meetings and project teams.
  • Communicate complex analysis in a succinct and impactful manner.
  • Mentor and train others on statistical concepts, applications, and techniques.
  • Develop and maintain data queries and reporting solutions to measure process capability and SPC metrics.
  • Analyze and present data to process teams and management.
  • Collaborate with the worldwide PCS team to standardize and share process control solutions.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Benefit programs that help protect income in the event of illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
