New College Grad - PCVD Process Engineer

Micron•Boise, ID
•Onsite

About The Position

Micron Technology is hiring a new college graduate to support its Boise, Idaho semiconductor manufacturing expansion. The CVD/PVD Process Engineer will develop, start up, optimize, and sustain chemical vapor deposition and physical vapor deposition processes for DRAM manufacturing. The role focuses on improving process capability, product quality, yield, defectivity, cost, productivity, and process stability as Micron builds and scales high-volume manufacturing operations. The engineer will work closely with equipment, integration, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot complex process and production issues. This hands-on role calls for data-driven problem solving, structured project execution, and collaboration in a fast-paced semiconductor fabrication environment. The engineer may also use data analysis, programming, and approved Agentic AI approaches to improve workflows, technical analysis, and process optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field, or equivalent military technical experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a semiconductor fabrication facility.
  • Experience with semiconductor process engineering, process troubleshooting, or manufacturing process optimization.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing or process data to identify and resolve technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CVD and/or PVD processes and equipment in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience with DRAM development or high-volume DRAM manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience using SPC, data analysis, or programming to improve semiconductor process performance, yield, or defectivity.
  • Demonstrated analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including driving technical issues to root cause and corrective action.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in applying Agentic AI to engineering workflows, data analysis, process optimization, or manufacturing problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, start up, optimize, and sustain CVD/PVD processes supporting DRAM manufacturing.
  • Improve process capability, yield, defectivity, quality, cost, productivity, and process stability.
  • Partner with equipment, integration, and manufacturing engineers to identify root causes and resolve process and production issues.
  • Own and improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) performance by using process data to identify trends, reduce variation, and maintain manufacturing stability.
  • Use project management and structured problem-solving methods to complete milestones and close yield, defectivity, productivity, and cost gaps.
  • Leverage data analysis, programming, and approved Agentic AI approaches, where appropriate, to improve engineering workflows, accelerate technical analysis, and support manufacturing process optimization.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Programs to help protect income in the event of illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid holidays.
