About The Position

As a CVD/PVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition/Physical Vapor Deposition) Process Engineer at Micron in Boise, Idaho, you will develop, start up, optimize, and sustain semiconductor manufacturing processes that improve product quality, yield, cost, productivity, and process stability. You will work closely with equipment, integration, and manufacturing teams to resolve complex process issues and implement solutions supporting high-volume DRAM manufacturing. The role is suited to an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration in a fast-paced semiconductor fabrication environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field, or equivalent military technical experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a semiconductor fabrication facility.
  • Experience with semiconductor process engineering, process troubleshooting, or manufacturing process optimization.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing or process data to identify and resolve technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CVD and/or PVD processes and equipment in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience with DRAM development or high-volume DRAM manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience using SPC, data analysis, or programming to improve semiconductor process performance, yield, or defectivity.
  • Demonstrated analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including driving technical issues to root cause and corrective action.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in applying Agentic AI to engineering workflows, data analysis, process optimization, or manufacturing problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, start up, optimize, and sustain CVD/PVD processes supporting DRAM manufacturing, focusing on process capability, yield, defectivity, quality, and cost.
  • Partner with equipment, integration, and manufacturing engineers to identify root causes and resolve process and production issues.
  • Own and improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) performance by using process data to identify trends, reduce variation, and maintain manufacturing stability.
  • Apply project management and structured problem-solving methods to complete milestones and close yield, defectivity, productivity, and cost gaps.
  • Use data analysis, programming, and approved Agentic AI approaches where appropriate to improve engineering workflows, accelerate technical analysis, and support manufacturing process optimization.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Programs to protect income if unable to work due to illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid holidays.
