About The Position

Kent is looking for a Process Commissioning Technicians to be based in Port Arthur, TX and support the GPX Greenfield project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 plus years of commissioning experience with process, piping and mechanical systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of commissioning processes and execution.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Control of Work (CoW) and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
  • Experience completing pre-commissioning documentation, including System Handover Management Process check sheets and turnover records.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment datasheets, commissioning procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of safe commissioning practices, equipment testing, and system readiness verification.
  • Full fluency in English is required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company; it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Process/Mechanical Commissioning Lead Technician and support the planning and execution of commissioning activities.
  • Perform process and mechanical commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, Mechanical Completion (MC) walkdowns, and develop punch lists.
  • Execute Boundary Condition Sheets (BCS), commissioning check sheets, and Inspection Test Records (ITRs).
  • Support piping flushing, cleaning, leak testing, process isolations, and other commissioning activities.
  • Verify the readiness of process equipment, including vessels, piping, valves, pumps, and pressure relief devices.
  • Support vendor activities, functional testing, system energization, and startup activities.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, redlines, turnover packages, and daily reports.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with Construction, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
  • Comply with all HSSE requirements, Permit to Work (PTW), and project safe work practices.
  • Identify and report commissioning issues, deficiencies, and punch list items to the Commissioning Lead.
  • Complete assigned work safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project quality standards.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management, within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role.
