About The Position

ADM's Summer Internship Program offers a 12-week immersive experience at one of ADM’s North American locations. Interns will collaborate with colleagues, develop practical skills, and contribute to projects supporting real business needs. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship provides competitive pay, and housing and transportation assistance may be available depending on location and distance from home. ADM's award-winning early career program is designed to help students build professional skills, explore career interests, and gain exposure to ADM’s business and culture. Interns will work for a global leader in the agricultural supply chain, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and strengthening the global food system, while building connections with colleagues, mentors, and fellow interns.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Willingness to relocate to an ADM location in North America.
  • Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects for Summer 2027, with assistance from hiring manager and other operations colleagues.
  • Shadow production engineers, operators and supervisors to gain exposure to plant operations, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Assist with monitoring and optimizing daily production operations to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for production or equipment-related issues.
  • Help develop and update process documentation, P&IDs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc.
  • Assist with safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
  • Participate in and/or lead safety meetings, training sessions, and ops briefings.
  • Present findings, project results, and recommendations to engineering leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Complete additional duties based on the needs of the assigned location.
