Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate efficient multi-tasking skills.
  • Receptive to other ideas and work constructively to increase depth and effectiveness in a group or team. effort.

  • Experience with the HANDS program or system preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiries from staff, local health department staff, and others to provide technical assistance in the interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Research and evaluate federal and state regulations, policies and procedures and assist in revising program policies and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison between program operations and information systems staff.
  • Research issues and respond to inquiries from statewide program staff regarding the HANDS billing and data collection system.
  • Maintain all staff accounts for accessing the program's web-based system.
  • Write instructional materials and develop standardized reports and forms for program assessment, budgeting, and billing, for use by local health department and state office staff for regular program monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain operational and billing manuals for statewide staff.
  • Work with the division's epidemiologists to evaluate statistical and program data to identify problem areas and recommend corrective actions or needed system, regulation, policy or procedure changes.
  • Research and collaborate with other agency staff to provide data and information for the program's system for required reports and monitoring activities.
