Procedure Scheduler - General Surgery

About The Position

The Procedure Scheduler performs the duties required to schedule patients for surgery and other procedures. The scheduler communicates necessary preparations to patients and shares scheduling information with all areas within the Scheduling Department. The role also gathers information from physicians and their offices about special supply requests and gathers and reports statistical data as requested. The scheduler is expected to demonstrate Service Excellence at all times and perform other duties as assigned. Northern Nevada Medical Group, part of Northern Nevada Health System, offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including primary care and specialty services such as cardiology, general surgery, and podiatry. The organization is part of Independence Physician Management, a subsidiary of UHS that develops and manages multispecialty physician networks and urgent care clinics aligned with UHS acute care facilities.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations.
Be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including assessing customer needs, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of medical experience preferred.
Completed a Medical Assistant/Specialist program preferred.
