About The Position

Responsible for facilitating and coordinating safe, comprehensive care for patients at Moorestown Multidisciplinary sites. As a professional caregiver and member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Procedural Nurse Coordinator is accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and provides care using the nursing process, including therapeutic use of self. Because leadership may be remote, the position requires expanded problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making at a local supervisory level. The coordinator will have an opportunity to assist with the development and operation of the Cooper Moorestown Multidisciplinary site, which focuses on acute and immediate care needs in Moorestown and surrounding areas. Excellent customer-service, interpersonal, and clinical skills are required, along with participation in cross-training in other specialty areas and quality-assurance and performance-improvement projects. The Cooper Surgery Center at Moorestown is an outpatient facility with six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and an interventional radiology suite. Patients receive care from pre-operative assessment through recovery, supported by a surgical team and advanced technology. Specialties include general, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, vascular, and other minimally invasive procedures. Care goals include reducing pain and complications and helping patients return to normal activity sooner. The role requires 10-hour shifts. The coordinator uses critical thinking to consider patient safety, effectiveness, and cost in care delivery. Resource utilization requires coordination with the Clinical Director to plan or adjust actions to improve continuity of care and outcomes. The position also requires communication, delegation, and supervision skills.
