Manages and provides leadership to one of three specialized probation units — Traditional Probation, Intensive Treatment Services (ITS), or the Resource Planning Program (RPP). This posting fills three supervisor vacancies. Applicants are considered for all three roles; the hiring committee determines the unit that best fits each selected candidate's demonstrated strengths. All three roles are based in Probation and report to the Probation Director. Traditional Probation leads a team of seven officers carrying the department's largest general-supervision caseload — traditional supervision, diversion, and interstate compact cases. It functions as the primary entry and exit point for youth on probation and carries the highest caseload per officer in the department. Intensive Treatment Services (ITS) leads a specialized health-and-wellness team of five, serving referrals from the bench and from Probation as a whole for youth with intensive treatment and behavioral-health needs. Resource Planning Program (RPP) leads a specialized docket team handling the department's highest-need, highest-risk youth and its placement services — in-care services for JCARE, the CAST reentry program, and placement probation in-county, out-of-county, and residential. In all three units, the supervisor must hold a deep, working knowledge of juvenile court process and Ohio law governing juvenile justice, including the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Rules of Juvenile Procedure as they apply to probation. This expertise is a core requirement of the position and is applied daily in case decisions, staff direction, and court representation. In this position, you are an At-Will Employee serving at the pleasure of the Administrative Judge.
