The Monmouth Vicinage Probation Division is currently seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, reasoning, written communication and technical competence skills.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any area, which includes or is supplemented by 24 credit hours in the behavioral or social sciences.
  • Applicants are required to submit a photocopy of their transcript at the time of application.
  • If selected, an official college or university transcript is required prior to start date.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate client behavioral change
  • Identifying client case management needs
  • Informing clients about available services
  • Coordinating services for clients
  • Monitoring case flow and treatment plans
  • Consulting with treatment team
  • Advising judges regarding case status and case issues
  • Analyzing case histories
  • Conferring with team members regarding management of cases
  • Preparing cases for hearing
  • Interviewing clients
  • Writing case notes
  • Assigning cases to appropriate track
  • Analyzing and screening cases in accordance with existing laws, regulations or professional practices
  • Reviewing, interpreting and enforcing all court orders and completing any necessary follow-up
  • Researching cases to resolve problems and determining the appropriate action
  • Utilizing various reporting systems to ensure cases are being addressed
  • Administering client drug screenings
  • Performing field work including home, school, jail and community agency visits
  • Performing related duties as assigned including late night reporting responsibilities once per week
