The Probation Division Director oversees probation field services and institutional work within Kern County. This role is responsible for managing and developing staff, ensuring efficient operations, and contributing to the improvement and strengthening of the county. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years of full-time paid experience in probation field services or institutions work.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience equivalent to a Probation Supervisor or an Assistant Division Director in the Kern County Probation department.
  • Possession of a California Class C Driver's License.
  • Must be eligible for a Class B Driver's License.
  • Submit all applicable diploma(s), transcripts, licenses and/or certificates with the application.
  • Valid government-issued photograph identification for examination.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Pass post-offer medical and drug screening tests.
