About The Position

The Department of History is seeking qualified applicants for its open Pro Tem Instructor pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Potential courses may be in the areas of World, Urban, Environmental, Women/Gender/Sexuality, European, Early Atlantic, Modern US, and African American history, among others. Applications will be accepted on a continual basis. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled. Requirements

  • Master's degree in hand at time of appointment in History or another relevant discipline.
  • Specialization open.
  • Successful candidates will have professional experience, demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching, and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated potential to contribute positively to its diverse community.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in related field.
  • Teaching experience in History.
