About The Position
North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a dependable, patient-focused PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This position offers flexible PRN scheduling with opportunities to work at multiple outpatient imaging centers throughout the DFW area.
Requirements
- Current ARDMS certification (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Current BLS certification preferred
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Experience performing a variety of general ultrasound examinations preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Perform a variety of ultrasound studies, including abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular (if credentialed), small parts, and other examinations as assigned.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure a safe and comfortable imaging experience.
- Obtain and document relevant patient history to assist with diagnostic interpretation.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining exceptional image quality.
- Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical history prior to imaging.
- Accurately document patient information and imaging procedures in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any equipment concerns or malfunctions.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Assist with other duties as needed to support departmental operations.
