About The Position

The PRN RN - Psychiatric Triage works at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, supporting patients in the 6400 Behavioral Health Unit through recovery. The role provides patient-centered nursing care and collaborates with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare staff. Caregivers help patients participate in their care plans and build self-responsibility, independence, daily living skills, and coping strategies through medication and therapies. This PRN position offers varying days and hours, with flexible shift options such as staggered start times, flexible shift lengths, and specialized assignments. The caregiver is required to work 48 hours per six-week period.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience.
Internal applicants with less than two years of experience may be considered after the post-orientation/90-day probationary period with Chief Nursing Officer approval.
For caregivers assigned primarily to ED Triage, five years of nursing experience and three years of inpatient psychiatric experience are required.
Licensed military RN experience will be considered.
