About The Position

This position involves ensuring safety and professional conduct by following all safety procedures, using proper body mechanics, reporting unsafe conditions, and adhering to radiation safety standards. The role requires providing high-quality patient care from arrival to departure, communicating with courtesy and discretion, safely transferring and positioning patients, and assisting in first aid or emergencies. Accurate imaging procedures are performed by operating imaging equipment, selecting appropriate cassettes, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and assisting physicians with contrast media, sterile procedures, and patient handling. The role also includes maintaining imaging rooms, preventing cross-contamination, securing supplies, reporting equipment malfunctions, and handling equipment responsibly. Additionally, the position supports department operations and professional growth by assuming delegated responsibilities and participating in continuing education.

Requirements

Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography.
Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months.
Registered technologists must be in good standing.
Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety procedures, use proper body mechanics, report unsafe conditions, adhere to radiation safety standards (including ALARA, shielding, and collimation), and maintain a professional appearance.
Care for patients from arrival to departure, communicate with courtesy and discretion, safely transfer and position patients, provide immobilization and protection, and assist in first aid or emergencies when needed.
Operate imaging equipment using proper technical factors, select and load appropriate cassettes, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and assist physicians with contrast media, sterile procedures, and patient handling.
Keep imaging rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, secure supplies, report equipment malfunctions, handle equipment responsibly, and complete necessary clerical duties.
Assume delegated responsibilities when leadership is absent, assist with additional equipment or procedures as needed, and participate in continuing education to maintain and expand skills.
