About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wellstar MCG Augusta is seeking a PRN board-certified/board-eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join our expanding Wellstar Medical Group OB Hospitalist Division. Our hospitalists practice in a collaborative academic environment alongside Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, General OB/GYN faculty, residents, medical students, certified nurse midwives, and advanced practice providers. As one of Georgia’s busiest obstetric centers, our physicians care for a diverse patient population while contributing to resident education, quality improvement, and innovative models of obstetric care.

Requirements

Available to work at least 48 hours per month
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license
Eligible for hospital privileges

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching experience
Experience in high-volume obstetrics
Maintains privileges for gynecologic surgery

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care including: Labor and delivery management, Vaginal and cesarean deliveries, Operative vaginal delivery, Obstetric emergencies, Postpartum care, Gynecologic emergency consultations and surgeries (2-3 gyn emergencies per 24h shift), Emergency Department consultations, Supervision of OB Emergency Department, Support of antepartum patients, Collaboration with academic physicians, midwives, MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, emergency medicine, and nursing.
Serve as attending physicians supervising OB/GYN residents and medical students in accordance with ACGME standards.
Participate in resident education.
Contribute to quality improvement.
Contribute to innovative models of obstetric care.
Participate in quality improvement, simulation, patient safety, and OB hospitalist program development and administrative leadership.
