About The Position
Wellstar MCG Augusta is seeking a PRN board-certified/board-eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join their expanding Wellstar Medical Group OB Hospitalist Division. This role is within a collaborative academic environment, working alongside various specialists, residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers. As one of Georgia's busiest obstetric centers, physicians will care for a diverse patient population while contributing to resident education, quality improvement, and innovative models of obstetric care.
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license
- Eligible for hospital privileges
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience
- Experience in high-volume obstetrics
- Maintains privileges for gynecologic surgery
Responsibilities
- Labor and delivery management
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Operative vaginal delivery
- Obstetric emergencies
- Postpartum care
- Gynecologic emergency consultations and surgeries (2-3 gyn emergencies per 24h shift)
- Emergency Department consultations
- Supervision of OB Emergency Department
- Support of antepartum patients
- Collaboration with academic physicians, midwives, MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, emergency medicine, and nursing
- Supervising OB/GYN residents and medical students in accordance with ACGME standards
- Resident education
- Bedside teaching
- Simulation training
- Evidence-based practice and clinical autonomy
- Quality improvement
- Patient safety initiatives
- Clinical protocol development
