About The Position
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wellstar MCG Augusta is seeking a full time board-certified/board-eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join our expanding Wellstar Medical Group OB Hospitalist Division. Our hospitalists practice in a collaborative academic environment alongside Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, General OB/GYN faculty, residents, medical students, certified nurse midwives, and advanced practice providers. As one of Georgia’s busiest obstetric centers, our physicians care for a diverse patient population while contributing to resident education, quality improvement, and innovative models of obstetric care.
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license
- Eligible for hospital privileges

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Labor and delivery management
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Operative vaginal delivery
- Obstetric emergencies
- Postpartum care
- Gynecologic emergency consultations and surgeries (2-3 gyn emergencies per 24h shift)
- Emergency Department consultations
- Supervision of OB Emergency Department
- Support of antepartum patients
- Collaboration with academic physicians, midwives, MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, emergency medicine, and nursing
- Serve as attending physicians supervising OB/GYN residents and medical students in accordance with ACGME standards.
