About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Counselor to join our team in Cleveland, OH. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality counseling services to individuals participating in our IOP, supporting their recovery and mental health goals in a flexible, as-needed capacity.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Must have one of the following licensures: CDCA, LCDCII or LCDCIII.
CDCA, LCDC-II, or equivalent required
Three to five years’ experience with the CIAI-C or SOQIC assessment tool and a minimum of five years experience working Alcohol/Drug and Mental Health clients/patients
Must be able to work flexible hours and holidays and/or evenings as required
Ability to prioritize, facilitate and complete assignments in an accurate and timely fashion while maintaining strict confidentiality of clients/patients
Minimum of three years experience in conducting assessments and group counseling skills
Superior customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrated PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

LCDC-III, BA Social Work preferred

Responsibilities

Provide accurate AOD assessment and diagnosis with supervision
Provide support to the lead counselor, assessment department, and IOP and detoxification units when necessary
Documents accurately and completely all care provided using appropriate records and within allotted time frame
Maintains current state licensure/certification to function as an approved CD practitioner
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate patient and family needs and progress with other disciplines and agencies as necessary
Possesses skills consistent with ability to perform chemical dependency assessments/intensive outpatient groups for both detoxification and outpatient clients.
Completes bio-psychosocial computerized EMR assessments thoroughly and in timely manner
Develops treatment plans with client and team that are complete, individualized and based on needs from assessment and those identified in the course of treatment
Provides IOP individual, group counseling, crisis intervention and case management services when needed
Matches counseling techniques to client need and readiness to change
