About The Position
Concerto Renal Services is an industry leader in sub-acute hemodialysis within skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Its model is designed to provide convenient, centralized, continuous care for people with end-stage renal disease. The PRN Dialysis Patient Care Technician is part of the hemodialysis care team and provides safe, effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following company policies, procedures, training, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR certification or completion upon starting in the unit.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Minimum of two years of dialysis technician experience.
- Dialysis certification required.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments according to prescribed orders.
- Obtain and document pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and vascular access assessments, and report unusual findings to the nurse.
- Set up, operate, and perform safety checks on hemodialysis machines; administer heparin as permitted by state law.
- Accurately document patient treatment details and prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed.
- Provide excellent service to patients, families, and staff while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
