About The Position

The Spiritual Care Services department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a PRN Nights Triage Chaplain. This role provides spiritual care, short-term counseling, worship leadership, education, and other religious support to patients, families, and staff as a member of the interdisciplinary care team. Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a large, nationally ranked hospital in Missouri, recognized for its excellence in nursing care. The Spiritual Care Services department includes various service lines and is staffed by a diverse team of professionals and students.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Theology or related field
• <2 years of experience
• No supervisor experience

Nice To Haves

• 1 Unit ACPE CPE or equivalent
• Board Chaplain APC, NACC, AJC
• Ordination or eligible

Responsibilities

• Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
• Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics.
• Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others.
• Contributes to the field of professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing and providing workshops at professional meetings.
