About The Position

DigiStream Investigations is seeking a Private/Surveillance Investigator to conduct covert investigations in the greater New York City region. Investigators gather evidence for clients defending insurance-related cases. The role involves travel, autonomy, varied assignments, and hands-on training, with opportunities for growth through the company’s Surveillance Investigator Promotion Track. The surveillance vehicle is kept at the employee’s residence, and travel to and from assignments begins and ends there; daily travel to an office or motor pool is not required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be 21 years or older.
Work an average of 50–55 hours per week, including commute and drive time.
Be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, on a five-day-per-week schedule averaging 10–12 hours per day.
Be able to start work as early as 5:00 a.m. and occasionally work into the evenings.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight on remote assignments.
Currently live in the greater New York City area.
Ability to pass a DMV check and background check.
Confident driving skills.
No PI license is required; the company covers the licensure cost and guides employees through the process.

Responsibilities

Monitor, follow, and videotape subjects during their day-to-day activities.
Pursue subjects by vehicle and on foot while maintaining cover.
Develop pre-surveillance strategies based on setup locations and case details.
Write detailed reports about observed and captured activities and submit video evidence.
Communicate regularly with the team leader about setup positions, activity, and tactics.
