About The Position

As a Private Equity Broker you will report directly to the Private Equity Practice Leader for Middle Market. This hybrid position allows for 3 days per week working from our New York City office. Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant insurance P&C business experience
  • Proven knowledge of Casualty (Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess) and Property coverages with program ranging in size from traditional Middle Market to Loss Sensitive business.
  • Strong understanding of Middle Market P&C risks and carrier appetites.
  • Experience in Private Equity backed placements and servicing.
  • Broad relationships with the carriers that write Middle Market P&C business.
  • Knowledge of Benchmarking and Loss Analysis.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Outstanding Microsoft Suite and presentation skills.
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining all Property & Casualty licenses in the required states, as designated by Aon. You must successfully complete the required course work and pass the examinations within 6 months of your start date. In addition, you will complete all required paperwork necessary in obtaining the licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the services of an Insurance Broker for Property, Casualty, Worker’s Compensation, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, Excess, and Foreign Package policies.
  • Advise and execute on the placement of new and renewal P&C programs including crafting submissions.
  • Driving placements within required timeframes and servicing those placements including their renewals; new business opportunities in the Private Equity space are often shorter and more complex than a traditional renewal timelines.
  • Analyze and review insurance programs for clients to determine optimum program including pricing, terms and conditions for both new and renewal business.
  • Help with the development of new and innovative solutions specific to Private Equity risks for the Middle Market clients/industry
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the carriers and underwriters.
  • Mentor and help develop associate brokers on the team.
  • Work as a team member and collaborate with other colleagues within the Aon team with a particular emphasis on developing relationships with other key internal and external stakeholders in an M&A transaction.
