About The Position

The Senior Private Equity & Credit Analyst will play a lead role in the sourcing, due diligence, selection, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of private market investment opportunities across private equity, private credit, private real assets, secondaries, co-investments, and fund-of-funds strategies, including evergreen vehicles designed for high-net-worth and private wealth investors. This individual will serve as a private markets subject matter expert and serve as a link between the Private Capital team, product partners, advisors, and clients and will provide investment education, portfolio construction guidance, and support to advisors, clients, prospects, and centers of influence. Including representing the Private Capital team at internal and external events, delivering thought leadership and market insights across private equity, private credit, and the broader private markets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in manager research/due diligence of private capital funds including investment due diligence (IDD), operational due diligence (ODD) or experience working in hedge fund investment manager research. This experience should include sourcing, implementation, education, allocation, portfolio construction and client advisory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, statistics, economics or related discipline/field of study
  • Strong command/knowledge of investment management, manager research/due diligence relating to private capital investments, as well as the latest research methods and instruments.
  • Excellent research, analytical, reasoning, problem solving, interpersonal and communications (both written and verbal) skills. Proven ability to relate to and influence audiences through verbal and written communications. Demonstrated success in translating complex analytical or technical information into understandable terms. Ability to digest technical, theoretical, and other relevant information independently.
  • Excellent investment and analytical skills including benchmarking analysis, track record and attribution analysis, understanding the regulatory environment & environment.
  • Ability to work with and solve for the private capital investment needs for the Reserve, GenSpring and F&E segment within Truist Wealth
  • Research skills include technical expertise, investigative & interpersonal capabilities, analytical capabilities and judgement in creation and growth of best in class PE or AI platform.
  • Excellent & effective interpersonal & communication skills leading to significant growth of the PE or AI platform.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree: MBA, or master's in finance, accounting statistics/math, economics, International Economics and/or International Relations degrees
  • Industry qualifications such as: CFA, CAIA and/or other related credentials
  • Familiarity with both closed-end/drawdown fund and evergreen/semi-liquid private capital structures preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly to both investment professionals and advisors
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with investment databases and research platforms such as Preqin, PitchBook, CAIS, Tamale, AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead the sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, approval, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring of private capital investment opportunities across private equity, private credit, real assets, co-investments, secondaries, and evergreen fund structures, including the preparation of investment memoranda, investment committee recommendations, manager reviews, and other ongoing due diligence and monitoring requirements.
  • Coordinate the ongoing development, management, and enhancement of Truist’s private capital platform across both bank and brokerage wealth channels, including manager selection, platform construction, product lifecycle management, advisor support, and the expansion of institutional-quality private market offerings.
  • Lead and support new and existing business development initiatives through client, prospect, and center-of-influence meetings; deliver private equity and private markets presentations; provide advisor and client education; support RFP responses; and serve as a trusted resource on private capital solutions.
  • Provide strategic advisory and consulting services on private capital portfolio construction, manager selection, and customized projects, including private capital portfolio reviews, asset allocation assessments, and other investment-related engagements.
  • Represent the Private Capital team as a speaker and/or expert panelist at Truist Wealth internal and external client events across market footprint to build connectivity & showcase expertise with teammates, clients and prospects providing key insights, current trends and subject matter expertise with respect to private markets.
  • Represent the Private Capital team as a speaker and/or panelist, and subject matter expert at internal and external client events across the Truist Wealth footprint to build connectivity and showcase private markets expertise with advisors, clients, prospects, centers of influence, and key business partners.
