About The Position
Interim HealthCare of Augusta is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide Private Duty Nursing care for a pediatric patient. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled nurse who is confident caring for medically complex pediatric patients in the home setting. Private duty nursing gives you the opportunity to provide focused, one-on-one care while becoming an important part of a child’s care team.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted LPN license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Pediatric nursing experience required
- Skilled nursing experience with G/GJ/NG tubes, tracheostomies, and ventilators
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in a pediatric patient’s condition
- Dependable, attentive, and comfortable working independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Reliable transportation

- Comfortable providing care involving Recognizing and responding appropriately to changes or emergencies
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to a pediatric patient in the home
- Monitor the patient’s respiratory and overall clinical status
- Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and airway management
- Monitor and manage ventilator equipment according to the plan of care
- Provide G-Tube, GJ-Tube, and/or NG-Tube care and feedings
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
- Communicate changes in condition with the family, physician, and clinical team
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures
- Provide compassionate support and education to the patient and family
