About The Position
BrightStar Care is seeking a skilled LPN to provide specialized, one-on-one nursing care for pediatric and complex-care patients in home and facility-based settings. The role involves tracheostomy and ventilator care, airway management, monitoring patient condition, and responding to clinical changes. The position offers morning schedules in Elyria and Lorain, with weekday and weekend options. Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Ohio RN license, as stated in the posting.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience.
- Current BLS/CPR certification and TB clearance.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patient mobility.
- Up-to-date COVID-19, flu, and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
- Strong clinical judgment and independent decision-making skills.
- Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care and pediatric care.
Nice To Haves
- Home-care or critical-care experience preferred.
- Experience in pediatric, memory/dementia, and hospital-level care.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for pediatric, memory/dementia, and complex-care patients.
- Perform and manage tracheostomy and ventilator care, including airway and ventilator support.
- Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
- Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility as needed.
- Implement infection-control and patient-safety protocols.
- Administer care according to physician orders and clinical guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, and families.
- Comply with safety, hygiene, and clinical standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and skills development.
