The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), the public defender agency for Massachusetts, is seeking candidates for a Private Attorney Outreach Partner. This role is crucial for CPCS's efforts to recruit private attorneys to contract with the agency, addressing a critical shortage. CPCS provides representation in a wide range of legal cases, including criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, family regulation, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as appeals and post-conviction proceedings. Approximately 80% of these cases are handled by private attorneys. The agency values courage, accountability, respect, and excellence, and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Private Attorney Outreach Partner will act as a key ambassador, assessing current recruiting efforts, developing innovative recruitment strategies, and marketing CPCS's brand through various channels. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, and the office location is negotiable within available CPCS offices.
