About The Position

The Prism Production Coordinator is responsible for producing low- and high-volume production jobs involving complex work and tight tolerances. The employee trains under the close supervision of qualified operators and performs day-to-day work in the production optics lab. The role includes operating equipment to manufacture optical parts, inspecting and maintaining quality, recording production information, and following production standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in visually inspecting optical components and using metrology tools to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with the principles of optics and how precision and tolerance affect optical performance.
• Ability to work with various computer software programs.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail for precision manufacturing and inspection tasks.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete and abstract variables where standardization is limited.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in optical manufacturing.
• Completion of an Optical Systems Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day work in the production optics lab.
• Ensure daily production-run quotas are met.
• Package and ship optical components.
• Operate equipment to manufacture high-volume production parts.
• Clean and visually inspect diamond-turned lenses.
• Inspect lenses using metrology equipment.
• Record inspection data, labor hours, and job information as required.
• Clean and maintain machines and metrology equipment as required.
• Maintain the quality of workmanship on finished parts.
• Adjust machines and change program parameters to maintain lens tolerances.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Properly execute production SOPs in full.
• Work in various areas of operations when necessary.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
