We go beyond primary care with a full spectrum of services including cardiovascular health services, behavioral health, allergy testing and immunotherapy, in-house lab testing, imaging, chronic disease management, and other specialty health services. We are currently seeking a Prior Authorization Coordinator to support our Imaging Department and help ensure timely, accurate approvals for diagnostic services across our network of clinics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with imaging-related prior authorizations required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance carriers and imaging guidelines (commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare).
  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes specific to imaging procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and time management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a primary care or specialty clinic is highly preferred.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or a similar EMR system is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Request, prepare, and submit all necessary documentation to obtain prior authorizations for imaging services such as CT, MRI, and Ultrasound.
  • Ensure insurance carrier requirements are met to reduce denials and delays in imaging services.
  • Prioritize authorization requests according to urgency and appointment timelines.
  • Follow up with insurance companies to track the status of pending authorizations.
  • Submit appeals for denied imaging authorizations with appropriate clinical justification.
  • Communicate authorization updates to clinic teams and patients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Verify accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 coding in patient charts relevant to imaging studies.
  • Document all activities in the electronic medical record (EMR) system in real-time.
