About The Position

The Prior Authorization Specialist ensures that payers are prepared to reimburse Griffin Hospital for scheduled services in accordance with payer-provider contracts. The specialist contacts payers to request service authorization and may collect clinical, financial, and/or demographic information from patients as needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare performing related tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare insurance processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Associate degree in healthcare or business administration, related coursework, or comparable experience.

• Proficiency in the use of healthcare information systems.
