About The Position

A Print Press Operator for JSM’s Print Operations Group will be controlling and utilizing a print press with a high level of proficiency to obtain quality and quantity goals according to customer’s guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High level of proficiency in controlling and utilizing a print press.
  • Ability to obtain quality and quantity goals according to customer’s guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to examine job jacket to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions.
  • Ability to change press plates, blankets, or inserts.
  • Ability to clean ink fountains, plates, or printing unit cylinders.
  • Ability to clean or oil presses or make minor repairs, using hand tools.
  • Ability to collect and inspect random samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
  • Ability to download or scan files to be printed, using printing production software.
  • Ability to feed paper through press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls.
  • Ability to input production job settings into workstation terminals that control automated printing systems.
  • Ability to service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine-tune, or test machines, devices, and equipment.
  • Ability to estimate and deliver upon schedules and plans.
  • Ability to quality check own work and work of others and fill out quality checklist properly.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures and promote company values and culture.

Responsibilities
