About The Position

Surge is hiring Printing Press Operators to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Opportunities include Offset 2nd Pressperson and Digital Press Operator positions. Depending on the role, operators run offset or digital printing equipment, prepare materials and files for production, maintain print quality, and meet production schedules. Second- and third-shift positions are available, and pay is based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
Ability to read and follow operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures.
Basic computer skills.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work safely and efficiently and meet production deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Previous offset or digital printing experience is preferred.
Comprehensive training is provided for the Offset 2nd Pressperson position.
For Digital Press Operator positions: strong digital graphics production, digital file format, and desktop publishing knowledge.
For Digital Press Operator positions: proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Assist with or independently operate offset or digital printing equipment, depending on the position.
Prepare paper, ink, printing plates, and other materials for production runs.
Stage materials and ensure digital print files are available and properly organized.
Perform equipment startup, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Monitor print quality, accuracy, and production standards.
Assist with color calibration and profiling for digital printing operations.
Perform safety and quality inspections throughout production.
Complete production reports and maintain accurate job and inventory records.
Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas.
Follow company safety procedures and assist with training other team members as needed.
Cover lead press operator duties when needed in the Offset Pressperson role.
Work overtime as required.
