Quality concerns should be brought to your supervisor/managers’ attention immediately. Job Tracking Follow and accurately update our in-house job tracking system to ensure that workflow follows prioritization and avoid duplication Health and Safety Compliance with federal provincial and municipal laws, as well as company and facility policies and procedures. Proper use of PPE including hearing protection. (Employee handbook and online health and safety). Cleaning All our staffs are expected to help keep our facility clean and clutter free. As a member of the Printing team, you will learn become familiar with and accountable for the following.: Job Preparation - ensures data is correct before job printing. This includes verifying quantities, due dates sort orders and more. Photo Printing - using proprietary ripping software (raster image processing) to rip and send jobs to print to the Noritsu wet lab. Digital Printing - using variety of software to send jobs to print, monitor and maintain queues and replenish paper toner and consumables on the presses and HP printers as trained. Documentation – Processing, printing and organizing documents that are required for printed orders including quality guarantees, distribution sheets and labels. Chemistry Mixing - proper handling and mixing of photographic chemicals. Add-ons - managing CD Key tag and Magnet workflow through output devices using a variety of software while maintaining job priority. Machine maintenance Performing daily weekly monthly maintenance on devices in the print room as trained. Other tasks or duties as assigned. Cross Department work: Opportunity exists to learn other tasks across other departments to help with the peaks and valleys each department experiences throughout the year. You may experience training on various equipment or workflow in other Production Division Departments. Photo Laminator Operating and maintaining Laminating digital prints from our digital press. Hot Laminating Operating and maintaining hot laminator, laminating digital prints from our digital press. Die Cutting Operating and maintaining the punch card pro die cutting machine punching out laminated cards keeping them in stack order for distribution. Operating and maintaining the Rotec die cutter, to cut Fun Packs and other products. Cutting Operating and maintaining the Tecnau and Challenge automatic and stack cutters. Booklet Making Operating and maintaining the Borg and Duplo Booklet Makers. Foil Stamping Using foil stamping machines to transfer foil to products such as photo mounts and vinyl folders. Manual Packaging: Involves placing photos in envelopes. Sorting and bundling products such as bookmarks and proofs for distribution Boxing orders with proper documentation. Shipping completed orders to clients using our integrated tracking system Processing Mail Sealing prepared orders to go to Canada post and processing manifests or the shipment. Mounting and Laminating Operating and maintaining a Seal Ultra 44 Laminator mainly used as a cold mount system for coating foam board and mounting inkjet prints to coated boards. Framing Assembly of precut metal and/or wood frames and plexi glass Shipping providing support where needed. From material handling to shipping and receiving. Packaging Machine Follow the information on the job ticket package the product according to requirements and procedures learnt in training for Packages or Groups. Maintaining: ensuring the device is set up, cleaned, and operating properly. Making required adjustments if necessary and/or notifying your supervisor if the device is not operating properly. Because we are a seasonal business it will take at least 12 months to gain knowledge and experience in various areas throughout the facility.
