About The Position

The Printer supports print production operations within the Center for Print Production by preparing, producing, and finishing a variety of printed materials and formats. The position performs digital prepress and print production work, operates and maintains specialized printing and finishing equipment, and processes customer orders. The printer also supports production workflow, equipment maintenance, and related printing and mailing operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma and a minimum of three years print production, or related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience or ability to operate, bindery, mail automation and print production equipment
Knowledge and experience using various EFI Fiery, Onyx RIP, Roland Versaworks, WinCNC, FusionPro, Microsoft Office products, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop.
Understanding of variable data and imposition software and personal computer and Macintosh operating systems.
Good interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid New York State driver’s license and meet all applicable driver eligibility requirements established by the College's Office of Risk Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform prepress work to include receiving and correcting customer files, adjusting for color, registration, and imposition, preparing corrected files for production, and producing proofs for customer approval.
Produce customer orders using a variety of print production and finishing technologies and techniques. Ensure that completed orders are properly documented and prepared for shipping and delivery
Support the maintenance and operation of Center for Print Production equipment and production areas; including coordinating preventative maintenance, monitoring equipment performance and downtime; arranging vendor repairs and maintaining equipment and maintenance records. Maintain organized production areas in accordance with applicable safety requirements and standards.
Cross train with Center for Print Production staff and perform work across production areas as assigned.
