About The Position
AJM Packaging Corporation is seeking Printing Press Technicians for its Southgate, Michigan location. The role supports high-speed printing equipment and machinery in a production environment, including setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The technician helps ensure quality, safety, and productivity, and may have opportunities to develop toward positions with greater responsibility or leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with Microsoft AX.
- Experience in a production environment with direct or supporting experience setting up, adjusting, or maintaining high-speed printing equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot common machine and quality problems and make necessary mechanical adjustments.
- Monitor the press during operation and make adjustments to maintain quality.
- Ensure the press and other assigned equipment remain in safe operating condition.
- Operate the infeed and outfeed automation system.
- Assist in webbing the press.
- Review work orders and schedules, set up the machine, and direct raw materials to the printing presses.
- Strip and prepare paper rolls for delivery to the appropriate printing presses.
- Operate and troubleshoot automated roll movement and unwind/rewind systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled or required.
- Immediately notify appropriate personnel about issues with automation equipment or finished goods.
- Assist with tracking inventory levels of printing supplies.
- Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
- Complete other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
