About The Position

The Print Shop Worker operates a variety of auxiliary print shop equipment to support the production and finishing of printed materials. This role performs print finishing tasks including cutting, trimming, folding, collating, perforating, laminating, binding, padding, stapling, hole punching, separating, and packaging printed materials to meet production specifications. The position also conducts routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor preventive maintenance on equipment, and operates the receiving end of inserter equipment. Responsibilities include verifying meter counts, posting mailing totals, maintaining production supplies, completing job tickets and other production documentation, and accurately maintaining inventory and stock records. The position transports paper, printed materials, and supplies using hand trucks, manual and electric pallet jacks, and operates a Division vehicle to deliver and retrieve materials as required. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to established safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license from state of residence.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Regularly lifts and carries materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other powered equipment.
  • Requires continuous visual attention, hearing, and manual dexterity.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical training in printing technology or a related field is recommended.
  • Some experience in print production, print finishing, or operating printing and bindery equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operating, setting up, and adjusting equipment such as power cutters, collators, folding machines, laminators, binders, perforating machines, hole punches, joggers, staplers, drill presses, plastic wrapping machines, inserters, and other related equipment.
  • Performing print finishing tasks including cutting, trimming, folding, collating, perforating, laminating, binding, padding, stapling, hole punching, separating, and packaging printed materials to meet production specifications.
  • Conducting routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor preventive maintenance on equipment, including replacing feed rollers, fuses, cutter sticks, and plastic rolls, and assisting with power cutter blade changes as needed.
  • Operating the receiving end of inserter equipment, verifying meter counts, posting mailing totals.
  • Maintaining production supplies, completing job tickets and other production documentation, and accurately maintaining inventory and stock records.
  • Transporting paper, printed materials, and supplies using hand trucks, manual and electric pallet jacks, and operating a Division vehicle to deliver and retrieve materials as required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
