About The Position

Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring work process. Shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Assigns department work as needed to meet daily production goals and on time delivery. Update SQDIP board and resolve daily issues / escalate as needed. Drive job costing accuracy. Ensure proper recording of transactions to/from inventory and jobs and manage reduction in rework / waste. Review and approve hours / PTO for direct reports within payroll deadlines. Manage attendance points and related employee communications. Collect, review, and approve timesheets for hours and job code accuracy daily. Manage labor costs including overtime and flexing associates as needed. Notify temporary agency of temporary associate attendance / behavior. Ensure compliance to company policies and manage / deliver disciplinary actions for direct reports. Partner with HR on complex cases. Provide training, coaching, and counseling to direct reports to achieve department's goals. Complete annual performance reviews. Ensure ISO training complete for team. Listen to employees and address concerns, suggestions, etc. Direct employees to complete preventative maintenance as needed and update records. Advise manager of potential need to add resources. Follow safety protocols and immediately address safety issues and ensure employees are trained on safety protocols for work area. Initiate safety investigation and drives correction action post-accident. Perform as line/operator as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three plus years of experience working in printing, manufacturing, distribution and/or fulfillment.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement.
  • Computer skills including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate/understand basic written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • One plus year of experience managing other employees.
  • One plus year in a print or mailing type environment.
  • English/Spanish bilingual.
