About The Position

The Principal of Newburgh Elementary School will be responsible for providing educational and administrative leadership, interpreting and enforcing regulations, and fostering good school-community relations. This role involves supervising and evaluating staff, administering master agreements, and developing and enhancing curricular and extracurricular programs. The Principal will also play a key role in staff recruitment and professional development, as well as managing the building's budget.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain proper certification as established by State law and the Department of Education
  • Must be aware of current trends and developments in education.
  • Must possess related training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, enforce, and develop regulations that are in agreement with Board Policies, the School Handbook and State/Federal law.
  • Provide leadership in the recruitment of staff.
  • Provide leadership for and share responsibility for the development and implementation of staff in-service programs.
  • Promote staff professional growth, cooperation, and self-development.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance.
  • Administer the master agreements in his/her assigned building.
  • Develop, maintain, evaluate, implement, and enhance curricular and extracurricular programs.
  • Provide leadership for the planning, development and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Use a systematic plan of checks and balances when preparing and supervising the building’s budget.
  • Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware and responsive.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise recognition programs for school activities.
  • Provide educational and administrative leadership in making and carrying out decisions for the building.
