About The Position

Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity, connecting smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites without special hardware or new networks. Their direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices across five continents, in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. The core of their technology is Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. Joining Skylo means working at the intersection of mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT, enabling connectivity in remote places. Requirements

  • A CS degree, Information Systems, or comparable technical educational background.
  • 8+ years of in-house technical recruiting, with significant work at startups or scaleups in high-velocity, scaling orgs.
  • Experience building or overhauling a recruiting function or system.
  • Deep partnership with hiring managers and executives: examples of shaping role definition, redesigning interview loops, advising leadership on talent strategy, or killing searches that weren't going to work.
  • Operate as a force multiplier, raising the bar for other recruiters through mentorship, calibration, or the standards and tooling put in place.
  • Expert-level AI fluency in daily workflow, designing AI-accelerated workflows.
  • Comfort defining, hitting, and reporting on KPIs (pipeline velocity, offer acceptance, time-to-hire) without losing sight of quality.
  • Skill in identifying niche technical talent across software, hardware, and satellite communications domains.
  • A track record closing complex, senior, and executive offers by communicating mission, scope, and equity value.

  • Familiarity with Ashby and Metaview or comparable modern ATS/interview-intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the most critical, ambiguous, and senior searches at Skylo — leadership and executive hires, founding-level technical roles, and searches in domains no one has recruited for here before.
  • Own the hiring system end to end — interview architecture, scorecard and rubric design, sourcing methodology, intake standards, calibration practice, and candidate communications.
  • Be the bar-raiser. Set the standard for what a great search, a great loop, and a great close look like at Skylo — and raise the level of every recruiter and hiring manager around you through coaching, calibration, and leading by example.
  • Partner with founders, executives, and functional leaders as a trusted advisor — on role definition, org design implications, market reality, and comp positioning.
  • Drive Skylo's AI-native recruiting practice, designing workflows, evaluating tools, and setting the standard for AI-accelerated recruiting.
  • Own talent strategy and pipeline planning in partnership with leadership — anticipate hires, build pipelines ahead of demand, and surface market, comp, and structural insights.
  • Hit aggressive velocity and offer-acceptance targets on own searches while holding and defining the quality bar.
  • Champion a candidate experience that reflects Skylo's mission and brand at the highest-stakes moments.
  • Fix broken steps in the funnel and make the fix stick for everyone.
