About The Position

Bullhorn Labs is Bullhorn’s innovation organization focused on rapidly bringing new AI-powered products and capabilities to market for the staffing industry. Operating with the speed and agility of a startup, backed by the scale and support of an established platform, Labs partners closely across Product, Engineering, AI, Architecture, Design, Customer Success, Support, and Go-To-Market teams to identify high-impact opportunities and turn them into real customer value quickly. Our model is built around rapid iteration and real-world validation. We launch products early, learn directly from customer usage and feedback, iterate aggressively, and transition successful products into sustained product and engineering teams as they scale across the broader Bullhorn platform. We are building in an AI-first world. That means embracing modern AI tooling, AI-assisted development workflows, rapid experimentation, and emerging technologies to dramatically increase both engineering velocity and customer impact. Position Overview We’re looking for an Engineer to join our leadership team. You’ll work closely with customers, executives, product leaders, architects, AI teams, and engineering teams across Bullhorn to help shape and build the next generation of AI-powered products for the staffing industry. This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll actively code, prototype, and build products from the ground up while also helping drive technical direction and product strategy. You’ll be part of a small, focused team responsible for quickly turning ideas into working products, learning from customer feedback, and evolving successful products into scalable platform investments.

Requirements

  • A strong desire to build, experiment, and improve products in a fast-moving environment.
  • Significant experience in software development with the ability to contribute both strategically and through direct implementation.
  • Ability to deeply understand customer workflows and solve real operational problems through technology.
  • Experience rapidly building products from the ground up, enabling fast iteration, validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing reusable frameworks, tooling, or shared patterns that improve long-term engineering efficiency.
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern AI technologies and workflows, including LLMs, prompting strategies, AI-assisted development workflows, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Ability to lead by example, influence technical direction, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments with changing priorities and evolving technologies.
  • Able to effectively communicate technical ideas, align on priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and provide clear updates on progress, tradeoffs, and status.

Nice To Haves

  • Given the pace of change in AI, we are not looking for decades of experience, but rather engineers who rapidly adopt new technologies, experiment continuously, and quickly apply emerging capabilities to real product development challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development efforts by actively writing code, prototyping quickly, and building products from the ground up.
  • Partner closely with Product, AI, Architecture, and Engineering leadership to align technical execution with business goals and customer needs.
  • Work directly with customers to understand operational challenges and translate them into impactful product capabilities.
  • Quickly prototype, launch, test, and refine products based on customer feedback, usage patterns, and evolving market needs.
  • Build products designed for fast validation and early adoption. Following product-market fit, successful solutions will transition into sustained product and engineering teams to scale across the broader Bullhorn platform.
  • Create reusable frameworks, tooling, and shared patterns that improve development speed and accelerate future innovation across Labs initiatives.
  • Work extensively with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-assisted development tooling, orchestration frameworks, and emerging AI technologies. Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies that improve engineering velocity and product capabilities.
  • Work closely with a small, highly collaborative Labs team while also partnering across Bullhorn Engineering, Product, AI, UX, Architecture, Support, and Go-To-Market teams.
  • Promote a culture of experimentation, rapid learning, pragmatic problem solving, and continuous improvement.
