As part of the sales team, this position provides technical sales support to assure successful customer integration and implementation of established company products. Collaborates and contributes to unit sales plan through a diverse scope of pre-sales and/or post-sales technical consulting activities requiring the highly complex and diverse solutions.

Requirements

  • Full working knowledge of assigned products and services.
  • Seasoned, in-depth knowledge of the relevant functional/process area; recognized subject matter expertise.
  • Flexibility to work from a customer site, remote response center, corporate location, or other site (as assigned).
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Certification is required in some areas.

Responsibilities

  • Consult on complex technical issues during joint sales calls with the sales team.
  • Consult with customers, sell and support highly complex products and systems.
  • Solve highly complex problems where analysis requires review of multiple identifiable factors.
  • Provide technical expertise in sales presentations, product demonstrations, and installation/maintenance to ensure systems function to specifications.
  • Answer customer inquiries on system software/applications; provide software development and consultation for complex solutions.
  • Understand, develop, and deliver complex systems/applications solutions to customer business, information, technical, and educational needs.
  • Analyze practices, procedures, and data to resolve technical issues.
  • Build mini-applications/prototypes based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility (rapid prototyping).
  • Create recommendations and implement new methods, techniques, and/or procedures for complex, diverse-scope solutions.
  • Serve as a mentor or coach.
  • Lead development of bid and pricing strategy in conjunction with pricing and product management partners.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver initial contract documents for network sourcing deals.
  • Partner with an executive negotiator to close network sourcing deals.
  • Lead and take ownership of negotiating SOW, SLA, and pricing documents.
  • Act as executive escalation for deal-specific and business issues.
